Car idles better, that's about as far as it goes. I couldn't get at the #7 plug, so I let it stay. The driver's side bank all looked worn but good.
#2 and #4 looked the same as the driver's side. #6 and #8 were lean.
The car still has a major stumble, all the way up to about 2500 rpm. Run it just slightly higher than 2500 and the car is fairly responsive. Being an L-48, this doesn't do me much good. ;)
The stumble... well, the engine feels like it falls on its feet, then after a fair amount of time, starts to surge forward, stumble again, then surge forward again. I'm guessing this is a lean miss- a rich miss would be a stumble that never really corrected itself, no?
What do you guys recommend I do? Is it ok to drive the car like this back and forth from school until thurs when I drop it off at a carb shop for tuning?
Re: Spark plug change, another drive... (Pacin'California)
Sparkplugs are not your problem, 1 Change all filters including the one in the CARB. make sure you put filter in the correct way and use the spring. Test drive if no change either the fuel pump is weak or the sock in the tank is clogged . The other problem you might have is the floats are set to low.
