I have seen a lot of topics with references to the vette being put away for the winter, which is causing me to wonder how many vette owners in the Northeast keep their cars active during the winter months. I try to get my 69 out once or twice a week on clear days with dry roads for the entire winter. I don't even mind the heat during these rides. I'm not sure how they setup those surveys I"ve seen on this forum, but if you do drive your vette all winter let me know.
Once they salt the roads :cry I put my baby away until spring. :D As I would not want salt on my child :nono: In the spring after they clean the streets and a couple of good rains it off we so to
I'm not so much against driving in the rain, but I do avoid salty roads like the plague. That's why I have my truck. The salt is just too damn corrosive for our cars.
Still, I think it's a good idea to keep the car active, especially if it's a mild winter. I love my 77 when it's cold outside. It's nice and cozy. Like you said, you don't mind the heat so much. And it's a shame to have the car just sitting there, for months at a time.
I'll run mine until first snow. As long as the hose isnt frozen and my son will wash it. (he will if he wants to go for a ride) wont take the old girl out dirty :yesnod:
Mine goes away around Oct 1st and comes out May 1st. Inbetween these months I take on large projects. I tear most of the suspension out each year and go through it besides making major changes.
I enjoy the down/project time as much as the summer driving.
To me working on the vet is just as enjoyable as driving it.
