Aloha:
I am in need of some engine advice. I need to replace my original 305 from my 1980, I was thinking with a 350. Any suggestions on what type, size and performance package that I should consider would be appreciated.
Thanks :grouphug:
I never been to Hawaii, but I suspect there are some machine shops on various islands that know what to do to a Chebby engine in the short block area anyway...all the top end...'glory stuff'....like heads and cam will not cost a mortgage to ship.....so I would go with a local rebuilt...from a shop with good gear and decent reputation....
what I would do is buy cam and heads of your choice, and do the rest of the assy yourself....lord knows you got the nice weather for it...so have fun....
Heres what I and a lot of other forum members have: http://www.sallee-chevrolet.com/Chev...ckV8s/355.html
You are going to get a lot of opinions on what to do but for this price and all new components IMO it can't be beat. Sallee Chevrolet will build an ALL NEW engine based on the basic ZZ4 to suit your needs.
Edit - Another good thing about this engine is you can go down to your local Chevrolet Dealer's parts department and order one.
