This one was a 71 base engine A/C car. White with Black interior. Heres the story: Owner said the original paint had a few chips but a real nice driver okay for cruise ins and stuff. Nice interior, engine ran very well. New exhaust, brakes, and tires. Perfect frame, rebuilt steering column.
Heres the real story: paint was checked everywhere, actually gone on the tops of the front fenders. Carpet shot, center console needed replaced. Engine would not start, carb probably gelled. Besides he had an engine on the floor behind it. I couldnt get it out to drive it if it did start.
Why do people wast other peoples time like this? He was asking $10500. Based on the price and his verbal description it should not have been a resto car. I wish I had some kind of secret questions I could ask to tell if people are lying, or based on the answer if the car is a gem or junk.
At least it was a nice day for a drive. Took the 88 out. Nice "3 hour tour"
I don't think it's dishonesty, although what you found today is pretty bogus. I think people polish the turd, only because they don't know it's a turd.
i've tried for yrs. to polish a turd and they never shine, i can hind the smell,
but no shine
comp: There is a new clear laquer made specially for turd-polishing. Works really well. I saw a guy on the forum that used it on his car and it looks great!
IM me and I'll tell you who it is ;)
