Budman,
I thought about doing just that back in March but no one seemed very interested when I posted. My wife just bought me a MIG welder for x-mas so who know's maybe I'll have a new career.
It's pretty cold up in Colorado tonight, so why don't you go out and set around that warm TIG welder and whip up a dozen or so of the fittings! :D
BTW, I put a 15 ohm resistor inline to my Volvo sensor this afternoon, it got the indicated temperatures very, very close to agreeing with the temp switch on an off for my Spal fans. It looks like the fans kick on about 3/4 of the way between the 165 mark on the gauge and the 210 mark on the gauge (maybe 200 degrees indicated?) and off at just a RCH above the 165 mark on the gauge. The SPals are supposed to go on at 195 and off at 175 so the gauge is within 5 degrees of the switch.
So I'm satisfied with the sensor for now!
Now all I need is a 170 degree to see if the fans will run less. The 180 degree thermostat is just too close to the low shut off to be efficient.
