Default Engine Build poll

I'm trying to decide what kind of engine to build so i can start putting together a list of parts and overall cost. I want to stick to a 350 block and stroke it, so that I can use all the new parts off of my L-82 again on the new engine and not have to buy new cam shaft, intake, carb, etc. The new engine will of course have forged crank, pistons, rods, etc. top of the line heads. I dont really want to go big block (as much as i would like to, its just WAY to expensive)
I apreciate any input

Why would you put all the top of the line stuff and use the stck cam. That would be a waste. i would put in a new cam if you are going to all tha ttrouble. It is not that expensive compared to some of the other parts you list. Besides the 383 can use more cam than a 350

Im sorry, failed to explain properly, im planning on getting a new cam and lifter kit for christmas and use it for now, and then get some nice aluminum heads over the summer, and then, once ive saved up enough money, yank out the L-82, stroke it, and reuse the new heads, cam, intake etc. so if i were to make a 427 big block, i couldnt do that since id have to get new heads and new everything, and would just haveto throw out all the stuff ive already bought. see what im saying. :smash:

Kinda hard to say, depends on what kind of overbore will be used. I think you can build a 396sbc for about the same costs as a 383sbc, so that will be my vote ;) .

Believe you need a 400 block to get up to 427, don't think you can use the 350 for anything over 396.
