I'm trying to resolve some issues with my new purchase.
Configuration is original 350 with Eldebrock Street Master intake and a 1405 Edlebrock carb with the factory throttle cable bracket. Currently, the pedal will not open the carb up 100%. I've tried to adjust the cable, but then I have an issue with the cable binding with the metal cover the cable sildes in to.
i have the same problem with my 73, went from holley quad replacement to holley street avenger and the throttle will only open about three fourths the way. my cable does not have the square that slides into the throttle bracket , it is held down by small metal plate with a screw . maybe someone has the answer.

Re: 1970 throttle linkage issue.... (2TS-73)
I replace my cable with a new one made by LOKAR. It will definatley set you up. My original cable was shot. It got bound up when I did go for WO. So for safety, I just ditched it when I put the Holley Street Avenger on mine.
I guess I was thinking I could change the angle of the petal (bend the lever) to reduce the slack in the cable and also give me more petal travel. Then re-install and adjust the cable.
I figure the cause is cable strech and fatigue on the pedal assembly - i.e. reduce angle.
One of the things that happens to our C3's over the years is the pedal under the dash bends, not allowing full throttle. Iv'e had several that way. People even change the carb thinking the poor performance is caruretor related. You can undo the bracket and bend the rod at the pedal or at the bend going forward. Whichever it needs.. This is more of a problem with the early cars.
