Re: 80-82 or C4 Seats (OHSIXX)
I'm thinking of the 80-82 seats. To cover my now vinyl seats in leather will cost over $1,000. I'm not even going to attempt. I saw a nice brand new leather set on Ebay for the same price, mounting frames & all.

I saw them as well. Did you see the "feature ad"? The bidding was under $500 a few hours ago.

Re: 80-82 or C4 Seats (OHSIXX)
I hate my 1980 seats. The side bolsters hit my shoulder blades and curl my shoulders forward. Very uncomfortable with a previous back injury. Plus, the lumbar support is too far up the back.
If someone gives me a real good deal on some aftermarket, or nice C4 or F-body seats, they can have mine.

Intertested in a swap for some C4 seats, I would love to have some '80 seats in the car?
I have a pair of C4 seats that need to be recovered. They are not "horrible" but they are complete w/ seat tracts. The Driver side is power w/ lumbar, the passenger in manual. I can take some pics for you if you want??
Try some of the Corvette yards for the 80-82 seats. I got mine from Pacific Corvette, http://www.pacvette.com . Complete with cushions, covers, fiberglass, tracks, etc. Don't remember the price but it was reasonable. They let me dig through the warehouse and pick the components that I wanted.
Had to use the '75 rails t install mine due to the floor pan shape. Fabricated a spacer for the front, used grade 8 bolts (lets be safe out there kids) and had to trim the bucket underneath a little. Fits like a champ. Very comfortable.
I went with cloth since I was sick of hot leather in the summer when the car was parked with the top down.
Do the C4 seats just bolt in place of the C3 seats?
Nope. You'll have to modify your C3 tracks and puit them on the C4 seats and still end up drilling at least 2 holes per side in order to get all 4 bolts in. But IMO it was worth it.

Re: 80-82 or C4 Seats (Corey 68)
I've been really busy lately but give me a little more info. My 6 month old daughter is sick right now and I have to deal with being the best man in a friends wedding, Christmas and getting a large project out the door before the end of the year. Please don't be offended if I don't respond too soon.

:iagree: especially after a recent anterior cervical discectomy w/fusion  The left side bolster digs into my shoulder blade, and the seat cushion width is for those skinny-assed, Levi's 501-types, something I haven't been since high school!

Mystery-
How much higher are your C4 seats sitting?
Do you think you could have mounted them lower or was your set-up as low as you think you can go?
I think the C4 seats here look way more comfortable than 80-82 seats, but the height is a concern for me.
I'd say given the old cusion in my old seats the new C4 seats sit up about 1-2" higher. I'm 6' tall and fit perfectly with the tops on. If you want to use electric motors for the seats they are going to sit even higher, maybe like 4 inches or so.
