Default Pre-formed fuel lines?

Is there such a thing as buying a complete pre-formed steel fuel line complete from tank to fuel pump? If so, where to purchase?

Steve any of the vette suppliers will have them or check with Finelines. The body has to come up or off to replace fuel lines. They also bend them in half when shipping.

Yes, all the major catalogs have them. They kinda "fold" them up to ship them. If you can attend a major show you can get them in an unfolded state. It is very difficult to get the 3/8 line installed with the body on the car. It doesn't want to go up the frame kickup by the diff.

They aren't cheap (for a piece of steel tubing).

My 2 pennies:

Luckily, I will be installing mine on a bare chassis, so I will
be bending mine up from a coil of tubing. cost : about $20 a line.

You need a couple pieces of rubber line, too. Get the good stuff (fuel injection
type). No need to go cheap on the short piece of rubber ... and get the good
injection type clamps.

GO PATS !! :seeya

I'm new so forgive me, but wouldn't it be easier to install braided line from the tank to the carb? What are the pros and cons of this.

I need to know because I might have to replace my fuel line.

I installed an aluminum fuel line from the rear of the car (beside the rear tank) up along the top of the frame rail by the right-rear tire, then down the frame rail to where it meets the main frame rail on the passenger side. From there it makes a hand formed gradual bend and then follows the stock lines down the side of the frame rail. I only took mine to the area of firewall, but from there it can easily go to the front of the engine.

I used aluminum and basically just kind of pushed / pulled it over the frame by the rear wheel and pulled it along and hand formed it where I needed it too. You do have to make sure once it's done that the line is secured so it does not rub or vibrate.

Braided line would work, but I think the extra thickness on the route I took would be a massive pain in the rear.

If anyone wants pictures of how I routed it, let me know and I will post them in a few days when I get back home.

Gary, thanks..but I have no intention on removing the body (lazy). :yesnod:
vvv90, I like your idea, will have to research costs
BSeery, would love to see pics, did you install this with body on?
Bubba installed a hose all the way from the tank to the pump on mine, not sure if this is a good idea!

Yes, I did it with the body on. Car up on stands and the right side tires off. It wasn't the hardest thing I have done, nor was it the easiest either. I will take some pictures in a few days when I get back home.

And no, a regular rubber line from front to rear is not a good idea. Too easy to split, and over time the rubber dries, cracks, leaks and you have a C3 Flambe`
