Posi was an option until 1970 when it became a standard feature. It's an Eaton unit using clutch plates and 4 springs to load it.

Another interesting fact is that from 1968-1970 had options to get a heavy duty pos., I suppose back in the L88 days you wanted a H.D. pos.
Also during these corvette wonder years you could get 4.56 rear gears from the factory :eek:
