A friend of mine suggested I make my own bushings out of Nylatron. He says its better than polyurathane or rubber. Anyone ever heard of this stuff or where to buy it?
I guess the benefit of this nylon is that it will not bind and does not require lubrication ever. The polyurathne will bind up , some have grease zerks and grease them. that gets very messy. If this works out well, maybe other would be interested.
he's on a run, i've worked with it , it turn's on a lathe real good and it's slick
like grafite or silicone impreg. i think it was called Delron or something close
i'll check back with him.
What bushings are you thinking of making? The biggest problem with stiff bushings is that...they're stiff. They make ride worse and they drive up loads going into the frame. But, it depends on which bushings you're replacing, too.
