I am sure that this has been asked before, but can the C4 front suspension be mounted on a C3. I am currently building a 77 as a somewhat of a street race car and I was looking at the front of my 84 and they are kinda similar. Can it be done??
Yep...but there is extensive welding and fabrication to make it work....the shops who market the conversion have a jig. Without a jig it may be a futile effort.
I have seen the work, but have not observed the process....one place that does it, Paul Newman Creations, should be adds in Super Chevy, Chevy High Performance, and other major car mags.
I did it.
It was very labor intensive but the results are WILD!!
I have a very responsive handling car. You may want to consider the VetteBrakes products. You can buy light/strong tubular A arms and a fiberglass spring conversion as well. If Steeroids are anygood then you are pretty close without cutting your car.
If your doing this remember you have to send them a bare frame.
I was doing a frame off so I did this conversion in my garage and used a lot of measurements and figuring. Probably very lucky it works at all!!!
You can check out SRIII.com as well. They are IL.
Good Luck
I have been watching the process on Samman's vette while it is being done at my mechanic's. I will check to see if I took any pics, if not hopefully the body has not been put on & I can head over and take some pics for you all.
