haha this vette was my first vette... big mistake and learning experiece.... rusted bucket of junk... i thought i got a good deal at $5500.00 for it and planned on restoring it..... needed new frame.. windshield frame, interior, paint ..ect..ect... i lucked out and sold it on ebay for exactly what i paid for it and disclosed all the problems so i could sell it with peace of mind... now a month later here it is... be carefull..!!!!!.. I now own a great "all original" 69 350/350 4spd convert in very nice shape for reasonable $$... i'm lucky....
 :chevy
I saw that vette on E-bay last night. They even took the pics in snow=rust! That's alright.... there's an interesting E-bay vert up for sale in Houston right now. Here we have a '72 Steel City Blue vert with no reserve and at $7752 with 8 days to go. Seller is "acheapdeal4u". No notes that anything is actually original and seller gives his telephone #(dealer) if you have questions. Nothing dishonest about it that I can see, but it's bothersome. Nothing noted that it is matching #'s.... but it does say *same motor was completely gone through". Hood wrong & mini exhuast tips. Why would anyone put a '72 vert up for sale with *No Reserve* if there wasn't something wrong to this picture? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6168
Oh man, that steel City Blue is a nice color, had me drooling all over the keyboard. Already up to $10,000 with 8 days left. Wonder if he would take a charcoal 81 in trade???
The steel cities grey(not blue) is an awesome color. I asked yesterday about the engine numbers and other questions and haven't heard back yet. Be careful about the wording. They're a dealer and they should know if it's matching numbers or not and they sure would state that if it were true. The long hood is another value breaker. You'll need to find a correct hood, grate, and wiper door assembly and all its components to get it back to original nad then paint to match or repaint the whole car.
