My LT1 72 vette doesn't want to start the first time I start it but after starting, it will start very easily every time after that initial time. Even in warm weather I have tried not pumping the gas peddle, pumping the gas peddle, pushing the gas peddle to floor and leaving it, etc but I havn't found that magic touch to start it. In cold weather it is worse! Like I explained , after the first start there is no problem the rest of the day. I have heard that this LT1 has a reputation for hard starting because of the cam. Any ideas?
It could be, but I would think it was related to the choke. Have you attempted to set the choke when it's cold, and then pulled the air cleaner before cranking it in order to see if the choke is setting?
