Bit the big one, but I get to cash in some vacation next month so, it won't hurt so bad. I also ordered from jet hot new hooker super comps.

I cannot figure out why I could not get the official big block corvette power steering pump and bracket set up to work on my car. It seemed weird, every corvette vendor sells bascially the same kit as if it is a direct bolt on. Every single after market vendor seemed to think the regular set up would not fit. I have found 2 other forum members that have the same issue I do (power steering pulley hitting crossmember) and others that dont have the problem. So I hope this will end my problem once and for all. So, I will have all new GM brackets, new pump, new pump pulley for sale. I list em here first and if no sale, will put them on ebay. These are for a 68 427.
Re: Ordered March Big Block Serpentine Conversion! (Brettmc)
no ac compressor yet, I will put ac on the car eventually, but to much other work is needed right now. I will post pics and how hard the install is once I receive the parts (2 weeks or so)

This is not my area of expertise.... but I think I recall an issue with mid-year frames regarding the BB/SB.
If I remember correctly, certain year frames had a different front crossmember for BB engines so that the balancer and/or PS pulley would clear.
Again, not my area of expertise, but I think I recall something like that.
I realize that your car is not a midyear... but who knows if the front crossmember is weird for some reason. All kinds of production changes occurred.
I have A/C & P/S on my 70 454... everything fits corrtectly, although the assembly manual definitely has an error in the drawings.... some of the accessory brackets can't be assembled as depicted in the assembly manual... and the same drawings have been copied by most vendors. Only a few of them have a corrected drawing.

Thats basically what I am thinking. I have figured out that I am not alone in this issue. And I guess the best I can do is warn others when they post here that they MIGHT have a problem when doing the same mods. I think its a little less frustrating knowing that an install may have some problems before you gointo it as opposed to thinking you are just gona slam it in and be done.
