you know the grill directly behind the hood just forward of the wiper door. Well it rests 2 inches lower than either piece. I adjusted the nuts on the firewall that lift/ lower the arms attached under the grill. the left on is the correct height but the right one is up as far as it can go and not to correct height nor are the ends. I could try washers but they would show, (Bubba), you know silver washers on black grill. What and where can I find shims I can place under the grill to get proper height? Maybe Home Depot has black washers???? Yep that's the Bubba in me speaking out. :D
You could always just rough up and spray paint a set black. If you go and buy em you may be able to get ones small enough to not be highly visible. That combined with some color might make it not too noticeable.
Spook I think your right I'm just wondering if someone already makes black washers or shims so I'm not always painting them when if I remove the grill plate.
Are you serious about it 2 inches lower? The grate sits on brackets that elevate it...what is it mounted to?
By the way, I'm picking up a Lemans Blue/Blue interior 68 Vert, #'s match 327-350, 4speed to restore. I'll have more insight now on the 68's uniqueness.

David, how many times have you been told, "Don't exagerate!"

Have you also adjusted the wiper door mechanism? The grill also mounts to that as well as the 3 independent supports.

you already have washers there! Windscreen Washers!
:lolg: :lolg:
Take off the plate that the support bolts are using to spread the load on the firewall. Make sure the holes are fully slotted and not full of gunk. Instead of washers on the top, extend the slots to bring the grill to the right height.
