Hooker Side Exit Headers and O2 sensor location
I am going to get my headers and side pipes from Jet Hot and they will weld in the O2 sensor.
Thanks, Eric.
I installed mine in the 9:00 position if you are looking into the collector. You will have to enlarge a hole in the side of the frame and notch your rocker panel. If JetHot is doing the welding for you install the header first before you enlarge the hole in the frame or notch your rocker panel. I can take a measurement from the opening of the collector to the weld bung if you need it. Let me know.
Is that on the passenger side?
Do you have any pictures that arn't so close up?
What controller are you using?
Thanks, Eric.

Thats on the passenger side. I'm using the Edelbrock ProFlo. If you need a better pic let me know what angle you want to see. It might be a little while before I can get the pic. I'm actually on the phone with Edelbrock right now.

Here is the pic you wanted.
James the sensor actually goes in the frame about 3/4". I just enlarged an existing hole in the frame.
Thanks for the pictures.
Your pipes look chrome. How did you get the O2 bung into the collector with the chrome pipes?
Thanks Eric.

If you use a heated (3 wire) sensor you should not have to worry about heat up times.

The folks at Edelbrock are very specific about the placement of the 02. It has to be on the upper side (10, or 2, or higher). The 12:00 position is best. The reason is anywhere lower will tend to collect moisture and then the sensor will fail, or give false readings. It also has to be approx 4" away from where all four tubes collect. Anywhere else, will give false readings. With sidepipes, there are not really many, or any options if you have to install one, and want to put it in the most appropriate location for peak performance.
I realize that the look of the external sensor is not the slickest thing since sliced bread. However, I have been amazed at how much "BUZZ" this thing creates.
I like to sit back and watch people at shows when they notice it. It is a dead give away that the car is fuel injected for the eductated viewer...and for the rest of the people...well, I have heard it all. Most think it is part of a flame thrower kit, others think it is some kind of valve.
