The build sheet may be between the tach and speedo, under the seat in the springs, or on top of the gas tank.
I usually pull the pass side dash insert first. Two screws in the jamb, three or four across the top and a couple from the side through the gauge bezel. Then I take out the center gauge cluster. There's a couple nuts inside (under) the console that hold the bezel on. You can get to them by removing the small access panels at the front sides of the console. Be careful of the gauge wiring (the back of the gauges are marked for what color goes where). Of course the oil tube willl have to be disconnected. Then the drivers side pod which is attached similarly to the pass side. But there are alot more wires in the way and the tach and speedo both need to be disconnected.

I found the drivers side dash to be a real pain in the rear, I just took mine out for a second time and removed the steering coloumn (it only took 20 minutes) before trying to remove the dash. I found it next to impossible to unplug all the wires, the speedo cable, tach drive and vacuum lines whilst the colomn was in, plus all the connectors are 33 years old and break easily, so the more room you have the less chance of something breaking, plus you can clean up the coloumn whilst its out.

cheers
Nick

Yes, take out the column. Much easier.

Mark the wrires as you remove them. Makes it a bit easier to reconnect everything.

Replace ALL the bulbs while you are there.

Now, if you want to do any work on your pedals (like the bushings or springs, do it NOW before you put the dash back in.

The horror, the horror
