How do yo accurately cc heads ?
Want to make sure my Vic Jr. heads are 64cc as they were advertised, ( they make 64 and 70cc ) anyway I can't seem to get an accurate measurement and would like to know the proper way to cc them ( combustion chamber only ) :D

The method used often is to take piece of decent thickness Plexiglas and seal it over one of the combustion chambers. Make sure to seal well between the plastic and the cylinder head. Use bolts through the normal cylinder head bolt holes to secure the plastic in place.
Through a small hole in the plastic, insert a liquid, usually a colored liquid, until the combustion chamber is full. I use a 10 CC syringe, and keep track of how much liquid you put in.
All the tools are easily available. If you want the professional type tools, look in the tools section of either Summit or Jegs catalogs.
Also you can seal the plastic to the head with some thick grease. A lot of people use colored thinner, kerosene or some other liquid that will flow easily and not collect bubbles like water.

I use automatic transmission fluid diluted with varsol out of my parts cleaning tank. The ratio I don't remember but the automatic transmission fluid is only a very small part, mostly varsol.
I also just use grease on the head and a big C clamp. A 100cc burette is over $100 so the 10 cc syringle is alot cheaper and will do the job.

So I guess the plastic is to stop the liquid from actually "overfilling" the chamber.
I suppose it was a bad choice or words as I am not so interested in being exact here just want to know if the chamber is 64 or 70cc. I put the valves in and a spark plug and filled the chamber with a 10cc syringe 7 times, that would be 70cc but you could see the water was well above the actuall suface of the head. so would one assume that this head was less than 70cc and would probably be 64 cc ?

Re: How do yo accurately cc heads ? (MotorHead)
If you want accuracy you will need that tall burette (100ml) with the small valve. Make sure your head is level with a bubble level and seal the plexiglas with grease - I use petro jelly. Fill chamber with liquid - I use motor oil - until all air pockets gone. Oil used is volume of chamber - 1ml = 1cc.
Ya know I tried just the calibrated beaker ($15) and it was good for ballpark numbers. But I just don't recommend it as it could be off by 2-3cc easily.

if it was bulging over then most likely it was over full. Try a liquid with less surface tension so it can't over fill without spilling. Try rubbing alcohol or mix some dish-washing soap with water.
That will get you a quick and dirty measurement. I prefer to use rubbing alcohol/water mix and red food color, but you have to be quick as it will evap quickly and throw off the amount.
