Well I wanted new seats, rugs and door panels but can't afford all that right now so... I didn't even know if there was such a thing as rug paint let alone fabric paint, that was a happy discovery, first I removed then scrubbed the rugs and then painted them, pretty good! Next the door panels, also not bad! The seats also appeared to turn out well. Bottom line $2,000 (CDN) saved and servicable interior. :D
Here's the car at the former owner's garage...Yuck!
Looks great. I've seen where others have dyed & painted interior parts. Does it really go permanent? I know when I used some Ecklers vinyl paint on some interior parts of a previous vette it scuffed right off.
Hey Brian, The interior looks great. What is the name of the spray you are using for the carpet ? Do you use it on the door panels also? I have been dyeing my carpets with ritt fabric dye untill I can replace them. Thanks

Two kinds of spray, one is fabric the other is vinyl. The name on the cans is
U-Fix-It by X-Cel, I got them at "Canadian Tire" here in Canada.
I redid my interior 1.5 years ago and it has held up great so far. I replaced the carpet and steering wheel as they were in bad shape. The seats, door panels, dash, and all birdcage trim got painted black. Made them look brand new.
Did you put on the door panel arm rest trim cover to repair the vinyl there?

Brent...
Actually I have the trim covers on the way from Ecklers, but till then I just used black Goop to fill in the bad spots before I painted them. It's never been out of the garage since I've done it and I still have to coat everything with my bottle of 303.
Hey that looks great!
I've searched for the brand names you posted but I can't find anything. I've been thinking of adding carpet dye to my business but haven't been able to find a good one.
Does the carpet get hard after application or is is soft like new? When you get it wet, does the dye transfer to other fabrics that touch it?

Carpet doesn't get hard, it dries in about 15 minutes and goes on like paint.
Boog, whats the "303",and whats its applications?
It's an upgrade from Armorall, it's real name is "303 AEROSPACE PROTECTANT", it does a better job of ultra violet protection but without the oily look. Try this link - http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=691222
Thanks,I'll check it out! Hopefully it IS a little less "oily" too-if you've got that ArmorAll on your hands,it makes things a bit slick to hang on too :D....P.S.: I did a search using the other thread & they're selling it at a marine supply store in town.
