It has nothing to do with how tight they're in. If you put any LATERAL(sideways)FORCE on them with your ratchet and extension, you can snap any plug no matter what the brand.

Yup! That's why I ONLY use a spark plug socket and a 3/4" wrench to install/remove plugs. No ratchet for me. I've had no such problems with that combo. Seems that the ratchet never fits in quite right and is always subjected to some sideloading from something.

That is normally the method I use. I also have a colapsable spark plug socket from Eastwood for the hard to get plugs.
