I'm trying to remove my door panels to be able to take off my exterior door handles and door locks for painting (and for a minor repair on the corner of the door). I got the interior handle off no problem, but is there a trick to removing the panels?
There is a screw in each upper(forward & back) corner, your "S" clip at the front lower corner(maybe one towards the back also), your "lock" handle has a special clip behind it like the window crank. You will not have this window crank of course if you have power windows. Then there are several funky type fasteners that work like big velcro pieces. Little plastic ***** that interlock into a receiving piece without any type adhesive. Usually one side stays with the other when you pull the panel apart form the metal door part.
