Sunny dry winter day so I though I would take the car for a short ride.
Did not get out of drive way. The new front tires are rubbing in the front of the wheel well. I recently put on a new rear spring, shocks and front coil springs. Did not notice any rubbing with the old tire 225-70-15 , same tires that where on it before the up grades.
Put new firestones 225-70-15 and like I said rubbing bad.
The new spring has the backend up 2 inches higher 30 in back 27.5 in front but the old tire didn’t rub and the tread was still good.
1.25 inches between tire and front of fender.
Any Ideas.
Had the same problem when I replaced the front springs. It seems that by raising the front end. the front edge of the fender now came closer to the tangent circle of the tire. Noticed especially when turning out of my driveway. Needed new tires anyway, so I installed 245 60 series, which are not as tall, which made the problem go away. So, you either have to lower the car back down, or change out the front tires to a smaller diameter. :(
