35 degrees out...time to do 0-60 tests!!!
After running an errand I decided to hook up the G-Timer and see if the cold air made a real difference in performance. (I last tested in 70+ degrees.)
First run I got massive wheelspin and thought I had totally wasted the run, but the unit blinked 4.80 0-60.
The second run, I started easy...too easy, and then punched it. No wheelspin. 0-60 in 4.60 flat! Wow. Had I tried again, I definitely could have launched better. I think a .15 second improvement would have been a piece of cake. I just ran out of usable no-traffic road to test again.
I once had a 0-60 run in the car, but it was a totally perfect launch. This launch stunk, so the cold air is certainly beneficial.
I'm definitely going to try for a sub 4.5 sec run sometime in the near future.
Try to find a section of smooth concrete to run your test on. When the weather gets cold my car hooks better on concrete than on asphalt.
