For various reasons, I want to replace my valve covers. Since I am considering going with an LT1 in the next year or so, I don't want to spend any money I don't have to on valve covers that I won't be keeping. I thought I would just find a set of stock, painted valve covers.
Wrong!
I found some chrome Moroso ones thru Jegs for about $35, I found some chrome Holley's locally for $30, but the cheapest ones I can find, $20, are for dirt track racing with the breather tubes sticking up about 4 inches. All I want are stock SBC valve covers, nothing fancy. I haven't called a chevy dealer, because I just have a feeling they will be $$$. None of the local auto parts carry anything but chrome ones, if they carry anything. I guess I will go out this weekend and look in the local junkyards, but I was hoping for a set of new ones.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
