oil pressure guage
The oil pressure guage on my 1972 stopped working. I checked the oil pressure and it is OK. How can you tell if the guage itself is bad or if something else is the problem? Thanks for any help.

Its a mechanical guage. There is little to go wrong, except the guage and the line going to it. Most of the time if you remove the guage, free up the works and oil up the mechanism, it will go back to working.

I have the same problem with my 72. I pulled the gage cluster out, sprayed a lot of WD40 in the gage ... then tested it with compressed air and it still doesn't work. Looking at the way it is installed, it looked like it would be a bear to get it off the cluster. Any tips?

My 73 had the same problem when the engine was rebuilt. We took it out and cleaned it up and it worked OK, for awhile. Then it went crap again. I took it out and sent it out to be rebuilt. They have services where they rebuild all the gauages/ instruments
