Another carpet and insulation question
When I pulled all the carpet out it seemed the heater core at been leaking ever so slightly over the years. I pulled all the felt padding out since it was rather nasty. Do I need to replace this or.. does it come with a new carpet set.. or is reflectix ample enough to replace this??

The front carpet that I put in did have some padding attached to it, but luckily the original full length padding that was below the old carpet in my vette was in great shape and I was able to use it again. I would think you need to lay something down as the padding on the new carpet does not go full length. Many have gone ahead and put down some kind of insulation for the tranny heat when doing the change.

You'll probably want to add some foil back insulation directly on the floor. (attach with 3M spray on adhesive). Most new carpet kits come with the material insulation already glued on to the new carpet.
Tear the old stuff out if it's stained or water damaged. Check for rust and repaint as necessary... then lay down the foil.
