Yep the detail disease is live and well in the Cali house. Which I had taken before pictures. Here they are, keep in mind the decal had no red, black or white left, the gas dooe hinge was completely rusted or paint oversprayed and the bottom of the lid was half the original blue/ black overspray. All done with paint/ tape and dental forceps to rub off the paint on the decal.
The buffing was hard as the entire piece is riveted and not screwed in so I could not separate it for the buffer.

Re: Another Cali detail job (Cali,68,L-79)
Another good job David. I guess I will give it a shot on my nose emblem. I was gonna order one. I have all new emblems to go on except the nose. Will see how it turns out. Thanks for the idea.
Eddie takes patience. Use black elec tape around the edge and use scissors as necessary. Spread vasoline or 80/90 oil with a cutip or similar on part you do not want paint on (chrome etc). Paint one color and then when dry tape over that section then paint the next color so forth or so on. It seems a lot of work for $15 but I did it when I went to the garage for a smoke anyway so no extra time spent.
