Hey I'm pushing 50... but this punk in a Mitsubishi (something or other) started gunning his engine at the red light today....and for some reason, it pissed me off.
I haven't had the Vette out in a month because of the bad weather. But something bugged me about this guy... with his black hood scoop and rear spoiler.
He punched it at the green... and something way down deep inside my 17 year old ego snapped. Now, my car puts only about 275 hp but... I beat this little shi## cold off the line... and he quit after about 100 yards.
My hands were shaking... but I was laughing like hell inside.

I have had mine out the last few days and it seems most want to rev it up next to me for some reason.Just a small blip on the gas is usally enough to get them out of my view. I try not to look over any more just to keep from laughing sometimes..
I don't have the need for any tickets so I try to be good...I really have to try sometimes real hard. Why do they want to pick on a defensless old man like me at 47 years old
Yea, these vettes are cool

That's awesome. I know what you mean. Most of the time, I just let them go. But sometimes, you have to pull out the books and do a little schooling.
I was out in my C4 the other day, and a guy in a Mazda 626 gave me a bunch of attitude for going too slow on an off ramp. The light ahead of us was red. Why drive up to it? Right? What's the hurry?
At any rate, the first chance he got, he zoomed past me and gave me a dirty look, only to be door to door with me, a few seconds later, at the light. I looked over at him, in his POS, and gave him a hysterical laugh. Then, when the light turned green, I waited a second and then drove slowly off.
The battle was won without ever firing a shot. Sometimes, I think that's the best way. :lolg:

Whenever that happens to me I think about how stupid it would be for me to get a ticket for racing on the street especially against a car that I would probably beat by over half a track length in a real race. I just can't afford it. :nonod:

:iagree:
I just look and laugh. If their window is down, I say "Are you serious?". That pizzes 'em off more than a good stomping, especially if they have their little tramp-slutz with them.

I dont know about the rest of the State (California) but here in San Diego if your caught racing - your car is Imponded for 30 days on your first offense! Kind of takes all the fun away from dealing with all the rice burners around here. A few bad accidents with fatalities brought this on!
Re: Almost Embarassed to talk about it. (74FLCONV)
Beating them when they have their slutz with them is the best! It happens to me all the time when I'm in my Camaro ('02 Z28 'vert with SLP intake and loudmouth exhaust). I'm never sure if they just don't know how much power it has, or they just see the ragtop and assume it's a V6. You've gotta wonder what an Integra with a fartcan is thinking when he steps up to a car that has his more than doubled in HP and torque.

Happens to me all the time when driving my C5. It is always a squirrel with a rice burner or a Mustsang reving the pipes. I love blowing their doors off.
Re: Almost Embarassed to talk about it. (KENS78SILVERANNIV)
Happened to me on the way home last night from a cruise-in. A honda accord, a red light, wants to race, I looked and just laughed, drove off regular. What are these guys thinking with those POS cars?
Re: Almost Embarassed to talk about it. (KENS78SILVERANNIV)
It really burns them when it's a woman the age of their mom that blows them away!!! :lolg: Not worth the trouble but very hard to resist sometimes. :reddevil

Guys I have nothing against ricer, nothing at all and occassionally one wants to play with my vet and I let him. I don't blow him away, I just use whatever power is takes to make it a good run, he usually wins slightly at the end.
I like some of their car, the great wheel selection, the pain jobs etc etc.
Also check out the woman they often have hanging around. If I was 35 years younger and had the choice between my vet and a ricer with the chicks    bye bye vet.
Guys I will always play but not seriously unless I get insulted, reving the motor is not an insult and I will play for the fun of it, Not to put him down but for the laughs. I even attend ricer shows as a spectator.
