Hi, I am just about to get back my 78' vette from the speed shop and it is pushing around 450 horse and torque now(383). The entire car has been upgraded(just about everything except the frame). I was wondering what are some good wheels to put on this car(it is about to goto the body shop and get a whole new finish and interior). Im looking for 17's or 18's that are 8 or 9 inches wide. Ive tried ebay and searching here and google. But it's almost impossible to find wheels with the right offset and I am not into using spacers.

Re: wheels for c3's (blackice)
Welcome to the forum.
And your right, don't ever use spacers.
Use adapters. There is a world of difference between the two. Adapters bolt on to the existing studs and give a new set of studs for the wheel to bolt to. A spacer sits between the wheel and rotor on the existing studs and give less stud for the lug nut to engage.
I am using 1996 wheels - 17 x 8.5 front and 17 x 9.5 rears with Vette Brakes wheel adapters.
have them made for you with the deminsions you want that is the only way to get it right it is a little more $$$ but well worth it i have 18x8 with a 4" backspace on the front and 18x10 with a 5.5" backspace on back
Zane: Where did you get those wheels, i think they would look awesome on my black 78'.
I bought them from Summit Racing. They are the Center Line Billet Wheels. Thruster 806 style. Also I did not need any adapters. If I was going to do it again I would buy the 8" wide wheels up front. 255 were the widest I could go without rubbing and the 8" wide wheels can handle that.
