Default Flowmaster 40's will they fit?

I want to go with a set of Flowmaster series 40 mufflers, will they fit the C-3? The dimensions are total length 19" and case length is 13 inches.

No problems on my '74. I am switching to Dynomax Race Magnum "Bullet" mufflers so if you need some 40 series delta-flows....let me know.

I'm running 40 Delta's. Tried putting 50's on but they are to long for my 69.

I am running 40's on my '68. To me, they are best fitting mufflers I have seen. On the 68/69, the exhaust cut out is on the outer edges of the rear valence (I am not sure where they are on your car). If you order the offset outlet version, the mufflers will sit up in there flush on either side of the spare tire and you literally cannot hardly see them. To me, this is much cleaner than some of the angled muffler installations that I have seen.

They sound great! Go with the 40's. The 50's are not loud enough!

How long have you had them, and how much do ya want for 'em? :seeya I'm not sure, but I assume the dimensions would be the same on a '79??

Hey, if'n he don't want 'em... I DO!! I've got UPS and Airborne accounts, so I'll setup shipping and stuff. Lemme know!

Hey, I just listened to the 40 delta's on Flowmaster's website, and they didn't sound all that 'bad'... but they were on a rustang 5.slo. We all know they sound like crap anyway no matter what muffler you put on them. The 40 series sounded great on a '67 Camaro! Does the delta make it more quiet? I listened to the 50's, and then the 50 delta's and didn't really hear a difference.

Drone - resonate at a certain RPM... usually at cruising RPM wherer you'll be spending most of your time. Flowmasters tend to resonate inside the cab of the car like the inside of a speakerbox. Some people don't like it... it's music to my ears!

They resonated in a certain rpm range...hard on the ears, and the head. Had to ditch em. Got some Dynomax race bullets now. No more drone.

OK,gotcha..But do you think it had anything to do with the installation? Such as the rubber hangers or touching somewhere, etc  Becuase I've heard good things on here & other posts on other forums....

It's a matter of opinion...some like droning, some don't.

Have em on my 73 and love em but they do give a drone that is real bad with the top up so I see why some coupe guys don't like em, top down they rock. :steering:

I have the Delta 50's and really like them. They do resonate some at the lower rpms but at cruising they are great. When you get on it they make the vette sound like a vette is supposed to sound. :yesnod: :D :D

I have the flows on my 81' and I love them. There is some droning at low RPMs but I use that to set off Honda car alarms in parking garages. :)

I have threee chamber flowmasters, which I think are the 50 series now. They are a tight fit, but went in ok. Make sure you add a balance tube !
