Re: Could somebody Desktop Dyno my combo please? (BlackRat)
I ran your numbers on my Performance Trends program but I cannot post it off of the program. If you have a fax, I M me and I'll send it to you with an information sheet to fill out for a more precise report.
I got: HP=416@4500
TQ=502@4000
HP does not look right but I assumed 2-1/2" exhaust. Need more info

Re: Could somebody Desktop Dyno my combo please? (JJMURFS)
Pete That is very impressive program!!! Have you ever check to see how accurate it is???
It is not very accurate. At best it is a guideline. The 2003 version is much closer than earlier versions. It usually gives numbers that are higher than a actual motor is, expecially with a roller cam. It assumes perfect timing,air/fuel ratio, fuel distribution. But it doesn't let you choose different specific manifolds. Only different types of manifolds. The same with exhaust. The other problem is the head flow files are made off of nunbers that are supplied by the manufacturer. Some manufactures greatly exaggerate thier flow numbers so it looks like if you change to their head you will get more power when in reality you will lose power on the motor. I do use it when I am flowing heads to see what kind of flow numbers I will need to support a particular HP range.
Re: Could somebody Desktop Dyno my combo please? (BlackRat)
I wonder what it would do with a larger cam? Like the XS282S...#11-678-5...2400-6800...590/598 lift...244/252 @ .050...110 degree lobe sep. It might be a better marriage with the heads.
Re: Could somebody Desktop Dyno my combo please? (Brettmc)
Brett,
You know I am actually considering that. I was comparing that very cam with the 677. I went with the smaller one for driveability and now I am thinking that I might have made a mistake. Luckily The cam isn't in the motor yet so I guess I could always return it and go with the larger one.
Would you guys mind re running the simulation with this cam XS282S?

Re: Could somebody Desktop Dyno my combo please? (BlackRat)
The first version of my 454 was nearly identical to what you are building, except for the cam. I ran a solid roller 242 / 248 @.050 .646 and .653 lift on a 110. The motor made 450 rwhp and 470 rwt. It had tremendous throttle responce and was only down 23 rwhp at 6500 rpms. You may not want to go the solid roller route, but the duration #'s I ran (If you run a solid flat tappet) would be a good guide.
Power brakes worked fine and it idled at 950 rpms or so.

Re: Could somebody Desktop Dyno my combo please? (BlackRat)
Wade I used my 2.25 head files and my 468 but otherwise our engines are pretty close. DDyno shows a minimum of 400 TQ(@2000) no matter which cam or intake I used. Anyway:
peak 569 TQ @ 5000 peak 609 HP @6500 I really like that XE-282S
Use these numbers as a guidline, I think DD is optimistic. I can live with 500/500(fly) and 400/400RW but that's not an easy task.

Re: Could somebody Desktop Dyno my combo please? (1970 Stingray)
Those are some great numbers. I could use some of those #'s is you have a few extra you aren't gonna be using. I wish I would have went with a little bigger cam myself.

Thanks guys I think I am going to contact Summit today and see if I can swap out to a the larger 282s. I don't know what I was thinking. DIVEABILITY! What's that and what does it matter for a weekend cruiser? :banghead: :seeya
