Finally getting time to put the rebuilt trailing arms back in today. Got them back from rebuild about a month ago. Christmas and vacation took priority. Wish me luck. :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash:
The only problem you should run into is putting the through bolt in. I grease it weel then use a pair of pliers. Feed it into the back side hole first, install the trailing arm keeping it pushed to the outside while grasping the bolt with the pliers.
While I have done this a dozen times it only takes a little luck and about a minute of actually fiddling to get it through.
Add the shims last, I prefer stainless shims and they must be slotted type,
Good luck
Put a 9/16" or so socket under the end of the t-aim where it goes into the mounting area and a floor jack or bottle jack under the rotor. Now holding it in postion is only to help balance while you fish the bolt through.
Both arms installed. almost have everything back together.Damn parking brake cable was the hardest part. Should have ordered caliper piston retaining holder to replace brake pads. Now work is interferring with vette time. All I know about vettes I learned from this forum. Thanks to all
