Knocked over my drivers side (mirrored/blue tint) t-top last night and shattered it. It was already cracked a little and all it needed was a reason. Talked to Derek at corvettettops and he said for the price of one OEM replacement he could get me two new tempered tops. Can you tell any difference in tempered and the OEM? Is there an advantage with going OEM vs tempered? I didn’t realize that the most common top broken is the driver’s side, that must be the reason ebay has a lot of passenger sides for sale. Just trying to get some options.
If OEM isn't tempered it won't be as strong as the tempered units, but the tempered will explode into a million pieces if you smack it on the edge. That's it's only weakness
Try having a large object hit the drivers T-top at 60 miles an hour and shatter into a million pieces! Only thing that held it together was the static cling dot matrix liner. When that was pulled off, everything fell apart.
