I am leaking bad from my weatherstripping on the doors. It is right where the bottom of the window is when it is rolled up. Kind of near the seat belt that it supposed to seal the window from the inside. Does anyone know exactly what this is called and how much it will cost me?
The weatherstrips in that area are designed to sort of channel the water away from the interior. The door set is 3 pieces. I think you are probably looking for the short piece that is riveted to the door jam along the rear vertical edge of the glass. Probably would be a good idea to replace the entire set, it doesn't cost an arm and leg. I will e-mail you a link to the place I buy my Corvette Rubber weatherstrip from.
Thanks a lot for the help guys. I found that one piece I needed for the driver's side. No telling what other pieces I am missing or the ones that are in need of desperate replacing. I'll have to check them as I go. :auto:
I need to replace the door main seals on both sides. They are mostly all missing and I currently have the door pannels half way off. Does the weatherstripping go on under the door pannels or can it be applied with them on? I am totally clueless in this case...
I'm a little confused with your question. The door seal is one piece, it is glued on the 3 sides of the door with a couple screws at the top on front and back. The window seals make the rest of the door set with one on the windshield post and one on the latch post. The door strips can be installed with the door panels in place. There is also the seal on the outer part of the door along the bottom edge of the window that can be replaced only if the door panels are removed.
