I had major issues (clearance) and mine is currently on ebay. That said, I have had other issues with clearance so it is not necesarily steeroids specific. My car is a 1968 big block vert.
I'm having massive clearance issues with the shaft and joints going to the rack. It won't clear my headers. They need a longer steering shaft IMO. I sent pictures and measurements to Speed Direct Yesterday. We'll see what happens.
Well how about that. I called Speed Direct today, and Eric is going to send me a longer shaft that I can cut to length. I'm really impressed with these guys. They have stood by their product as far as I'm concerned, well, at least eric seems to have a good idea how to treat the customer.
One other thing, I think it should be noted that these guys can't, nor should be expected to account for every aftermarket variance that can occur (mainly with regards to headers) on these old beasts. I think it's reasonable to assume that if you have a stock engine setup with stock manifolds that you should not run into any issues. Like anything else, however, if you have anything beyond that, you should prepare to have to do some minor improvisation (hammer to the headers). I had to clearance my motor mount with a die grinder (slightly, nothing major) for the set screws on the lower joint to clear. The big hooker headers on the big block are another issue entirely.
