If you have a chrome bumper car, have them re-chromed, but if you're like me and have a plastic bumper car, definitely have them replaced. Even if you do get them looking good, they'll still be extremely fragile and susceptible to stress cracks and more waves.
I replaced my front and rear on my '74 with fiberglass. The only waves around my car are from me, or to me. I'd like to say from the ocean as well, but I only have rivers with ice around here!
corvette central has a flexiglass bumpers, I will be purchasing front and rear for my body off resto. project on a 79. they are not as stiff as fiberglass so they form with the body much better and will not wave over time :hurray:
Your rubber bumpers were wavey even when the car was brand new. If they are not broke, don't fix them. Now if you are planning to do a complete exterior restoration and paint job, that's another story. Replacing those bumper covers is often not as easy as it might seem, they usually need to be modified and fitted to the car.
