Guys, for the life of me, I can't get thte hoses to quit leaking on the tranny lines that go to the cooler. The rubber ones that clamp onto the hard line. It does probably make a good corrosion deterent though.
Make sure it's not just cheap rubber hose.
You want a hose that stands up to the tranny fluid.
Some rubber will expand greatly from the fluid ... then they will never seal right.

Working with elastomers all the time, duuhhh, that never crossed my mind. I was using gas line, but it doesn't mean that it is compatable with ATF. Will investigate, thanks.
I experienced this problem two weeks ago. I used rubber fuel hose and It leaked near the clamp and the fitting into the cooler section of the radiator. I replaced it with transmission cooler hoses I bought from a tranny cooler kit at Advanced Auto Parts. Hasn't leaked again.
Last winter I replaced and I noticed it was hard, but I thought it was the the cold. Boy, do I feel like an idiot after working with elatomers and having compatibility problems, I never thought of it. It doesn't leak bad, but is unsightly.
