4 speed swap
As I previously posted, I am in the planning stages for swapping a 4 speed trans in place of the automatic in my 76. I would like to thank mxzx turbine for hooking me up with the parts I need. I have a new question. Can anyone tell me what modification will be necessary for my driveshaft? All the other mods seem pretty straight forward, shifter placement, cross member install, z bar tab on frame, etc. As I am NOT worried about originality (obviously) or even looking original, these kinds of mods will be OK. I figure the trans end of the shaft will need to be changed to fit the splines on the trans, but is the length that much different (I'm going with a Sag 4 spd-CHEAP)? Does anyone know of a company that produces shafts for this if that would be better than modifying my existing shaft? :confused:
