I enjoyed those pics. Thanks! Tall Ships events are among my favourites but it seems that one is basically dock-bound. I came from Nova Scotia originally and the home of the Bluenose is Halifax. I marvel at the skills needed to keep those vessels under control.
It may be my half-century eyes but the retirees look to be in their 40s. What is the retirement age in the US Navy? And is it rank-dependent?

It's not age mandated but TAFMS (Total Active Federal Military Service)

Great pics David. I'm a bit of a tall ship guy, but never went to see the Star when visiting SD. I've built many a model sailing ship since boyhood and still get awstruct at their complexity. Thanks for sharing
