Knocking or pinging sound
71 350 with alot of motor mods. Has a loud knocking sound that moves with rpm. It does have an aftermarket comp cam in it and the motor has only about 14,000 miles on it since everything was replaced 9 except the block). I have not noticed any power loss, but I can hear the difference even from the exhaust. in the morning I am going to get a compression test to make sure. Anyone have any ideas? :confused:

Use screwdriver to ear trick and listen around different areas of the engine to isolate the noise source. If knocking inside engine, could be spun bearing or other possible things.
