I've put a few things off due to time restrictions caused by school and work, but I'll get started on the vette one of these years.
My to-do list:
1. Install VBP suspension kit that's been sitting on the garage shelf for well over a year now.
2. Purchase and install steeroids.
3. Replace oil seals in diff and engine while suspension and steering is out.
4. Purchase and install 17" wheels and tires.
5. Upgrade brakes (haven't decided what to install yet).
6. Purchase and install cam/heads/intake.
1, 2, and 3 will all happen at the same time (hopefully within the next year). 4 will happen shortly thereafter. Not sure on 5 and 6 yet, but I imagine they are at least 2 years away.
So what is your to-do list and time table?

Very soon I'll be buying new front tires and getting an alignment. Then...
Replace tierod ends, revamping the outers to correct bumpsteer.
Trans: shift kit, convertor, seals
I'm sure I'll find other things to keep me busy.
Then this summer, when I have a garage and free time:
6-link conversion, diff. seals etc. (I have lots of leaks)
Trailing arms: install bushings, new bearings, modify for offset possibly.
Heads, and install headers
Bodywork and paintjob...might not get done.
Long term: interior, underdash air-stuff, C5 seats, 5speed.
I'm only 19 and I'm already spending away my life's earnings :cry

Well, as someone already said, the whole car of course...
But before the summer I hope to have some things done.
Polishing wheels, done
Fix leaking powercylinder
Leaking transmission
Fixing the brakes/changing all fluid, sounds easy to you but not to me ;)
Cleaning up the engine bay
Flush the whole rusty cooling system
In the long run:
Changing to other seats, fix the rest of the interior
Repaint the whole car
Tear apart and paint the engine
Electric cooling fans

As for the minor stuff:
1) Replace my heater core.
2) Replace wiper motor (if it's not the fuse or electrical connections).
3) Buy a new battery.
4) Change tranny fluid and filter.
5) Buy a new radio with CD player.
6) Replace stock speedometer with the 165 mph maximum.
7) Weatherstripping
As for the major stuff (to be done much much later):
1) Replace suspension system (rear leaf spring, front spring coils, 4 shocks).
2) Replace stock engine with ZZ4.
3) Place a TPI system for a more fuel efficient car.
4) Replace THM 350 tranny with 700R4.
5) Complete body shop job with new paint job.
After all that, I could say that my dream car is PERFECT! I don't know how long this will take and how much this is gonna cost me ... sometimes I think to myself, "What have I gotten myself into?" If I have saved up all the money I already spent on my C3, I could tell you with confidence that I could have bought myself a brand new C5 !!! Now I'm stuck with my C3 with all the expenses already done to it. I had the car for 9 years now and have already spent a total of $24,000 for repairs here and there (besides the cost of the car when I first bought it ... $7,500). But that's the fever that got me all into this. Vette Fever could be costly if you are not a DIY person. At any rate, I still love my Vette. :auto:

From: Las Vegas - Just stop perpetuating myths please.
 I've given up on a timetable Capt'n. I had so many improvements that needed to be done my way that my shark has been down over two years. Most recent setback is new mini starter was delivered with solenoid rotated 180* and I burned two full days trying to shim it for engagement! For now its only one step at a time as any improvement/modification/repair can lead to weeks of frustration. :nopity
I can list what I've done since I broke the fan shroud at the drags and thought it was a good opportunity to give the motor a top-end warm-up (cam & heads):
new motor mounts
new core support
recore radiator
fan shroud
all new shroud seals and brackets
new front wiring harness - engine and lights
new camshaft
new cylinder heads
corrected pushrod length
new fuel pump
new fuel tank - new flex hoses, seals, gaskets, and cap
clean/blow out fuel lines
new rear bumper - and new taillights
all reconditioned A/C equip - condenser, compressor, evaporator and new hoses with VIR eliminator
replaced all seals in A/C box
replaced blower
replaced heater core
replaced all seals in heater box
new headers - required new offset pipes with O2 fittings (pipes also heat barrier wrapped)
repair floor pan heat damage
install heat shields on floor pans
new Al intake
recurve distributor
AND STILL HAVE PLENTY TO INSTALL!
I no longer will try to rush any job after having to remove TWO broken easy-outs. I feel I may be within the $1000 range if I was to tow it to the dealer or performance shop to complete. But I want the start-up for myself. :D

Alright... you asked... Grab a beer and have a seat.
1. Weather Stripping
2. Rewire the ENTIRE car (by hand, replacement harnesses are too much $$$)
3. Swap out for a 700R4 Tranny (30% - 40% increase in mileage, Oh heck yeah!)
4. Engine Build up (10.2:1 comp. 350; estimated cost $4500 blech!)
5. Full suspension kit
6. Upgraded brakes
7. Whole Interior
8. Paint
Yay! Trying to have everything up to and including the engine done by the end of this coming summer.

Oh, as I read all of your replies, I was reminded of a couple other things. During the suspension and steering install, I also plan to install the VBP spreader bar. Then when it comes time to do the cam/heads/intake, I plan on installing an aluminum radiator and dual electric fans. Eventually, I also want to install either a five or six speed tranny. Yeah, it's going to be awhile before it's done.
Well, If I want to drive it any farther than to the corner store and back (which was pretty much all I did last summer) I need to replace the radiator and fix the STUPID brakes once and for all. A grocery list of other things too if I get the time. The annoying exhaust leak would come next.

1 -I've already purchasd new brake calipers. Now I'm just saving my spare cash to purchase the master cylinder/power booster, rotors and pads. That will take care of the brakes.
2 - While waiting for brake parts, exterminate all wiring demons that reside in the car. Currently, the brake lights think they have a part time job.
3 - Dye all the interior panels black and install new carpet and seat belts.
4 - Replace exhaust and install cats and mufflers.
5 - Replace suspension bushings.
6 - Pray that it passes state inspection.
