Auto to manual conversion...
I know I've asked about this before... but I've got some comments to make this time around! :jester
I've been going through the mental list of parts needed to pull it off without a hitch... a T5 transmission, a new set of pedals... But what dawned on me is the fact that all the late model stuff runs hydraulic clutch setups!
Would it not be easier to find some pedal setup that is almost the same as ours that has hydraulic capabilities and just use a hydraulic throwout bearing?
But what if one was to keep the standard manual pedal setup, and rebuild it using heimjoints with grease fittings to keep it form ever getting clunky feeling... which would be cheaper?
I'm trying to figure out if I can pull of a manual trans swap with a 6 cylinder T5... then upgrade at a later date (when it blows up...) to a stronger something.
Costs being mainly the clutch, shortening of the driveshaft... and the cost of transmission/bellhousing. I've seen pedal assemblies go for upwards of a hundred bucks... and if I'm going to use a 50 dollar transmission I cant see that happening!
