There's some bunk in that write up. The "dies" had to be pretty cheap soft lead castings and the fire pretty hot to destroy them.
I think the company folded because no one wanted such a POS.

The 4-door was supposed to be the 'family' corvette, before they realized how fugly it is. There are only about 4 originals in the world. I doubt this is one of them.

I remember those vettes my grand father was a chevy dealer back then the sales, they were sold as corvette limo's, there was a white one that was in use in the hartford,conn area
