There seem to be a lot of "brake problem" posts lately. I was going through my pix on my home page, and found this. This is the O Ring piston kit from Vette Brakes and Products, which I installed in all 4 calipers on my 69. The pic shows the entirely different design of the piston. Hope this helps. Chuck
Yes, O-ring and Lip seal pistons are different. O-rings have more of a box shape cutout where the seal itself goes. Lip seals have more of a V shape. The overall diameter of the pistons is the same except where the seals go on the piston. If there are any more questions on this please ask, as we are here to help.
I have purchased a set from VBP and the calipers are beautiful. Gary from VBP helped me at Carlise on my cores. Hands down the best deal for your money. You could go with a custom set up from Wilwood... but then you are speaking about BIG $$$$$$$$$$$$$$. THANKS VBP for all the help! HIGHLY RECOMMEND VBP for all your caliper needs!!! :hurray:

Re: O Ring Brake Caliper Kits (Chuck Gongloff)
Chuck, these are the same kits I put in my calipers. They work like a champ. Best thing I have done to my brakes yet. Plus, they were not nearly as difficult to install as I thought they would be. Fairly easy.
This is a great product. Bought mine several years ago from VBP at Carlisle. Did them myself with absolutely NO problems. My calipers had previously been SS sleeved. EASY job.
One thing I might add is that when I rebuilt my rear trailing arms, I had the rotors "trued" to the spindles as a unit. Did the same with the front hubs. This was done about a year AFTER I installed the VBP kits.
That being said, even with the "old" setup, with a lot of runout on both the front and rear rotors, the VBP pistons DID NOT pump air as my old original pistons did. Chuck
