You guys have been gettign hit hard...my hearts go out to you. It's actually been really nice in FL lately though. I won't rub it in...too much. :reddevil
yep im at work now working on salt spreaders and im sick. :U i refused to come in sunday and monday i was way too bad and after today ill probably get worse.
Man I don't know how you guys do it. We got ice here in Ga yesterday. We were right on the ice line, the county below us which is only 15 miles away didn't get any. Too cold to work on the vette, too slippery to go outside. I'd go crazy if I had to put up with this all winter.
I really feel for yall. Supposed to be back in the upper 50's lower 60's by the end of the week though. Yall stay warm.

Re: SNOW ON THE EAST COAST (EDDIEJ82)
I agree EddieJ82. I don't know how you guys handle the cold. I am glad it doesn't get any colder than it does here in Tennessee. I am cold when it gets below 70. LOL!!
EDDIEJ82 & Eddie 70:
Here's a few 'high-lights' since the first of the year from S.W. Pa.: 2 Jan-5 Jan: Rain, almost non-stop. Temps in the low-40*s. Flooding in low-lying areas... 6-7 Jan: Rain stops, temps steadily fall as flooding subsides... 8 Jan: Last day temps are above freezing. Several days of no-sun/high winds... 10 Jan-20 Jan: 'Hi'-temps in the lo/mid 20*s; over-night temps in single digits... Every day, a few inches of snow fall. Salt 1" thick on street in front of my house... 24-25 Jan: Over-night temp bottoms-out at -9*F; God-knows how low the Wind-Chill was.... 6" of snow evening of the 25th 26 Jan: Temps in the mid-20*s, but we get an inch of freezing rain (?) covering everything... 27 Jan: ACCU-GUESS WEather is predicting 2"-6" of additional snow, WITH more freezing rain. Percipitation to fall until 5:00 PM of the 28th.....
and the State motto used to be "You've got a Friend in Pennsylvania".....
We got about 10" of snow here with the storms of Saturday and Sunday combined. Now we're getting freezing rain. This sucks. At least I have a job where I can work from home. My daily drive is 43 miles, and I'm *not* doing that in this weather.
This thread reminds me how much I don't miss living in New Jersey. The miserable winters were a major factor in my family packing up and heading to SoCal. Sorry east coasters, I do feel for you since I lived there through 20 winters and remember how lousy it could be.
noon EST 27 Jan '04:
At 10:30AM EST, it began gently drizzling a freezing rain...
At 11AM, I took my truck out of the garage, and made an 8-mile round trip to my bank, P.O. Box, and local hardware store.
It changed-over to rain shortly after I left the house; some of the flakes are as big as baseball cards!
My P.O. is just 2 blocks from the county courthouse, a 7-story building with a huge dome and steeple/flag-pole. The hardware store is in the block NEXT to the courthouse: the flag-pole is invisible!
The trip took 45 minutes, and as I pulled the truck back in the garage, I have an INCH of snow on the hood, even the it is kept in the garage (warm), and I left the motor running the entire trip...
Winter build character.
I got up this morning .. no snow .. just 5 derees F.
The woodstove needed to be fed, but I just rolled out of bed.
I went out front a grabbed a few logs without a stitch of clothes.
It feels pretty refreshing, until shrinkage starts to set in.
pics to follow ... :lolg:
3:30PM EST:
Just got done cleaning my driveway. Oddly, the snow on the roofs of my house & remote garages are MELTING, as the snow continues to come down.
Have conservatively already gotten 4"-5" since 11:00AM, and if ANYTHING, it is snowing harder now than it was 2 hours ago....
I know the feeling all to well. I am on Olney, MD and it's been horrible. I haven't driven her since Oct. and ofcourse I am getting pretty impatience for SUMMER I am even ready for 90* at this point.
Every year I swear it's the last in PA, remember last year? Non-stop snow, then a week or two in the spring when it was okay weather for a human, then a MONTH of rain! :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad
as soon as it breaks 50* im giong out with the roof down! (as long as theres no salt on the road!) i dont care how crazy it seems i cant wait anylonger!
