When I have headlights/tail-lights ON, and turn directional signal to turn LEFT, my far right tail-light goes OFF.
If I turn directional signal to turn RIGHT, the signal blinks AND the LEFT tail light stays on like it should.
I have 1157 bulbs on the outer tail lights, and 1156 bulbs on the inner tail lights. I have reversed them to make sure it isn't a bulb problem and symptoms stay the same.

Re: Weird Tail light/Directional signal problem on 80 (azswede1960)
I'm trouble shooting wiring problems in my tail lights also. My problem is that the tail lights work all the time, the brake lights work some time.
In searching for my problem, I discovered that the power and ground for the rear lights all come into one connection point for each power and ground. Upon unwrapping the elec. tape from the connection points, I discovered bare wires with a bare metal wire connector. The wires and the connector were so severly corroded that when I clamped my test light to the ground and touched the power I only got a dim light.
I cut out the connection and reconnected the clean wires and soldered the connection and put heat shrink on it. Now my lights are as bright as my newer vehicles. That solved all but one of my problems with the rear lights.
I suggest you pull the wiring out of the wire looms that run across the inside of the rear bumper and check the condition of the distribution points.
