Default Cracked Ignition Coil

Yes my name is Bubba. I managed to crack the plastic top of the ignition coil on my 71 with TI and now it is bleeding what appears to be oil. Is there oil inside ignition coils? Can a damaged coil be rebuilt/repaired? This is the original coil which came with my 71 LT-1 and I would like to salvage it. Thanks.

Salvageable no way. Inexpensive? Yes they are unless you run an expensive aftermarket super coil. Ecklers has stock units to be had for less than $30.

Not familiar with your year, but if you have the original coil with the embossed numbers "271" 12V, etc., you can buy a repro from Goat Hill. They're about $100.00 as I recall. Goat Hill is owned by Paul Baker. His eMail address is goathil@aol.com ONE L in Goat Hill in the address. Chuck
