Default American Racing Torque Thrust II Question

I'm getting ready to buy a new set of wheels for my 1971. I want to put 17x8's on the car. What size tires are you guys running? Also what is the back spacing for the wheels? :flag
Thanks

255/45R17's all-around with 4" backspacing on the wheels. No mod's required for the trailing arms, e-brake, or leaf spring. Moved the left front 'bump stop' a bit so the tire wouldn't rub the frame at full lock.

4 inch backspacing is correct but watch the answers that you get about tiere sizes. I think that the front wheelwells are a bit larger on the later C3's.

FWIW I have 255-50-17's on my '79.

C3s have 15x8 w/ 4 inch backspacing and 27 inch tall tires.

255/50/R17s are 27 inch tall. 17x8 with 4 inch backspace without rubbing issues usually.

Wider in rears (9.5s) can go to 4.5 backspace. You might have to move the e-brake bracket to the top of the trailing arm or remove it if you dont care about E-brake.

275/50/R17s by Nitto or 285/40/R18 Dunlop for rears will work good :)

OH, that... Well, they fit rather well. The worst part is the 8 week wait while they were custom made.

20 x 8 w/ 4" backspacing
255 / 35 ZR-20 tires allow stock ride height within reason.

 post pics after you get them on. I'm thinking 18's are in my future, perhaps 17's in the front, but definitly 18's in the rear.

I've got this rub! What do y ou mean by "moved...bump stop" where'd you move it to?

I'm running 17 torq thrusts w/ 255/50's all around and it looks GREAT!
