HeyGuys. :seeya I need to change the seat foam on my 72 seats. Got the foam, but need seat cover install instructions. The covers are currenly new, but Bubba installed them FUBAR. Where can I get proper cover install instructions??
Thanks
Eddie
I am in the process of changing my foam and seat covers now. I had a lot of problems with the hog rings and the hog ring pliers. It seems you need three hands, and they all need to be in the same place at the same time. After about an hour (I’m not a very patient person) I started to use tie wraps. These things work great. Poke a hole in the foam, loop the tie wrap around the wire thru the cover, back thru the foam and around the metal fram in the foam. Put them on loose, then when you have a bunch of them in start pulling them tight. Work from the middle of the cushion outward. Works great!
I got my all leather covers from Corvette America. Beautiful quality!
Got new foam as well.
Everything went fine until trying to get S shaped clips to attach bottom of covers around frame. The new foam made it a “real stretch”. Just like you said, takes 3 hands, only have two.
I want them to be tight and without wrinkles, but these is a little much. I need some “third” hand to compress foam while I attach clips

The only problem I see with that solution is that the tie-wraps will dry and become brittle with age. I work on aircraft wiring and we use tie-wraps in
huge numbers, and as long as there is no shear motion, they last forever, but
once they get old, one twist and they're history. Bottom line is I don't know how they will hold up under the everyday use. I would just maybe back them up with hog-rings. Not a criticism, just a concern. :seeya
